In 2023, Tulane University's Digital Library began the process of migrating its collections to Alma-Digital. After nearly a decade of using a locally hosted instance of Islandora, an open source platform, the move to a vendor-based system inspired a variety of challenges, growing pains, and new opportunities. Staff members from Tulane's Alma-Digital implementation team will share their experiences with migration, including lessons learned and discoveries made. Presenters will discuss the migration process as a whole as well as how differences between the two systems were reconciled, such as changes in digital object structures and differing levels of functionality for MODS metadata. The session will conclude with an overview of the current state of Tulane's Alma-Digital implementation and what staff have planned for the future.
