Bridging the Divide: Using Analytics Dashboards to Share Data Across Departments

Session Information

Now more than ever, data drives decision making, especially in collection development. Analytics are the foundation of many renewal and cancellation decisions, providing information about usage, turnaways, cost per use, and purchasing history. However, in many cases, access to this data is limited to those who work directly with the data collection. To breakdown this information barrier, Vanderbilt University Libraries built a self-service, centralized dashboard to provide real-time purchase and usage data, which streamlines requests from liaisons allowing easier information sharing and transparency. Join us to discuss the infrastructure of this dashboard. Topics will include why we built this dashboard, the reports we included, how it is used by library staff, and how we incorporate feedback to improve the dashboard.
