With the goal of having a more holistic view of the user journey throughout the online library ecosystem, we focused on revamping our website tracking using Matomo, an open source web analytics application. Several adjustments were needed to get the construction right in this quest to build bridges between domains and connect the user experience together. This session will focus on the code needed to capture activity within Primo VE such as outlinks and page tracking in the non-static angular environment and the decision behind using certain features and not others (like tag manager). In addition, the presentation will address how I adjusted settings to capture behavior such as tabbed browsing and cross domain tracking because browsers restrict certain cookie activity and how I used developer tools within Chrome to identify current and upcoming problems with cookie based tracking.
