Systems & DEIAA: Thinking Outside the Average User

Session Information

When working with multiple systems such as ILS, CMS, DAMS, and other library platforms, there is a focus on the standard user's experience with some minor adjustments for other audiences. This presentation challenges that view, makes a case for considering beyond the "average" user, and offers insight into one system's librarian approach to DEIAA (diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, and accessibility) for the needs of an academic institution with a diverse userbase.
