This presentation will cover 5+ uses for regular expressions in Analytics, including: Returning parts of call numbers, returning just the volume or copy number where it's embedded in the call number, normalizing publication dates, returning parts of URLs, extracting single ISBNs from a list, returning only parts of certain bibliographic details, and more. More importantly, the presentation will cover regular expressions beyond just providing specific formulae, including resources for learning and testing regex, how to set them up in Analytics, and strategies for testing and troubleshooting, with the goal that attendees leave the session feeling more prepared to create their own regular expressions in Analytics.
